River Notes:
Specializing in Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Catfish.
Saltwater species include redfish, flounder, tarpon,
and the brackish water sea trout.
Fish are concentrated in the deeper holes and sandbar
drop-offs where clean water can be found.
Anglers should target the edges of submerged
vegetation along banks, sharp bends, and drop-offs
near shallow bars. Traditional methods for taking all
species will work. Swimming plastic worms/jerk baits
and twitching shallow-running minnow imitations are
preferred tactics among many bass anglers here.
Longest river in
Florida stretching 310 miles. It is not uncommon
to see dolphins in the river east of Jacksonville,
manatees in the springtime when the water warms up,
alligators, bald eagles, ospreys, stingrays, and many
species of fish, both salt and fresh water.
